Amber (The Apple Loft): “My partner and I had such a lovely stay at The Apple Loft! It’s beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and tidy, and we instantly felt at home. The fresh flowers, wine and brownies were such a special touch to arrive to after a long journey - and we have to mention, they were genuinely the best brownies we’ve ever had, so thank you Jon! Alison was absolutely lovely, so friendly and helpful, and we’re really glad we got to meet you! We also loved meeting the doggies at the property, which made our stay even sweeter. The location itself is so peaceful and beautiful, and Apple Loft just has such a cosy feel to it. One of the first things we noticed was how amazing it smelled! We loved the fragrance so much that we actually went and bought some for our own home from the Little Red Star Barn just around the corner or online. Debra (Tremayne End): “Thank you both for a fantastic welcome and stay on the Lizard in your beautiful apartment. Everything was as described and we enjoyed having our breakfast out on the balcony looking out to the Cornish countryside. The apartment was well equipped and the bed was super comfy. There is also a powerful shower with plenty of hot water. We walked to Helford and then got a boat ride over to Trebah gardens which was stunning and well worth a visit. Alison was an excellent host from start to finish and gave us lots of information about local places to visit. We enjoyed the welcome pack including the delicious chocolate salted brownies baked by John. 5 stars all round!” July 2026
Martin (The Apple Loft): “I’ve always loved Cornwall, such happy childhood memories, so going back made me smile. What made me smile even more was the Apple Loft, as we pulled up I thought to myself what an idyllic location, quiet, peaceful and with our own garden with dining area. What wowed me even more was when I opened the door! The smell was so fresh, the bed looked so inviting, crisp sheets and amazing pillows (this is an upside down cottage) as I made my way up the stairs to the living area more amazing aromas, but that could have been the fresh brownies, enough for 5 never mind the two of us, and the bottle of champagne was a welcome surprise! The cottage was an ideal base for my partner and I, we went to hike and sight see by day and relax in the evening, it was lovely to return from a busy day out to a relaxing drink in our own private garden, a lovely way to wind down. The kitchen was perfect, everything we needed and Alison popped to see us and had some awesome recommendations. So sad to leave!” July 2026
Vicky (Tremayne End): “Arriving at Tremayne End was like visiting your favourite sister- a very warm welcome from Alison- but never intrusive. She has impeccable taste, knows what guests want and makes it as comfortable as her own home. The house is in a beautifully peaceful location- so a car is a must- although we did have a couple of days where we could walk to Helford, around Frenchmans Creek, over the river on the ferry and walk to Trebah Gardens which are worth visiting. The bed was super comfy, dressed with beautiful linens, nice big towels, powerful shower and the kitchen kitted out with everything you could wish for including beautiful crockery. It was all such a treat- as were the brownies and the champagne- and a beautiful vase of flowers.” July 2026

The property is beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and finished to a very high standard throughout. The quality of everything provided was exceptional, from the comfortable bed and luxurious bedding to the well-equipped kitchen and excellent shower. It genuinely felt like a home from home, with every detail carefully considered.
The icing on the cake was the fabulous host Alison. Nothing was too much trouble and she went above and beyond to accommodate our ever changing needs. Thank you Alison, you are a star, you also make pretty good chocolate brownies.” June 2026
Philip (The Apple Loft): “The Apple Loft is our absolute favourite Cornish retreat. It is spotlessly clean and perfectly maintained with a very well thought through layout which includes plenty of storage. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces share the same attention to detail and high spec. It is an extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished and modernised Cornish cottage. The location is excellent, a great base for exploring Cornwall, the immediate surroundings offer peace and quiet in the quintessentially Cornish countryside. There are fantastic local walks and numerous foodie offerings. We enjoyed pasty's from Gear Farm and fine dining at Flora. Alison is a perfect host and we felt very well looked after. This was our second stay and was every bit as perfect as the first, we are looking forward to our next visit.” June 2026

Despite some pretty dreadful weather, we explored the beautiful Lizard, it was one of the last places in Cornwall we hadn’t visited and it didn’t disappoint. Long walks, quick swims, pasties, fresh fish - it truly has been a wonderful week away. Trepigge is one of the best places we have stayed, everything you could need (and more) is here. Paula (The Apple Loft): “We stayed at both the Apple cottage and Piggery at the same location during our stay and both were 5 star luxury accommodation in a semi rural peaceful area. The decor was beautiful and the bed extremely comfortable with lavish, premium bedding which afforded a great nights sleep. The cottage had everything we needed and so much more than most Airbnb’s. The infamous brownies were much appreciated! Thank you. While the location was a bit off the beaten track, we managed to travel to most locations within the hour which made it a great base. The pastie shop nearby was fabulous and quite sought after, great quality! Alison was a great host, friendly and very helpful. We would most definitely recommend this stay 100 per cent . We would definitely look forward to returning.” May 2026

We absolutely love West Cornwall so wanted to spend longer than a day trip. Tremayne End was perfect, beautiful surroundings and Tremayne End is so beautifully and tastefully set out. We will definitely be back and are planning bringing our family to come with us so Tremayne Farmhouse will be where we will stay. Samantha (The Apple Loft): “An absolutely beautiful loft apartment. Pristine clean, so well equipped. Very cosy. Super comfortable bed and a gorgeous, super comfy sofa.
Specious, light, airy. Very cosy at night with the log burner. Soooo peaceful and tucked away. Just what we’d hoped for. Made for an amazing few nights sleep! Gorgeous outdoor space with the stable door and private patio for outside dining. Great parking. We drove to Kynance cove so worth a visit! Stunning costal walks. Also visited Carbis Bay and Hayle beach. Absolutely incredible! All a very reasonable 20-45 minute drives! Arrived to the most amazing brownies, a chilled bottle of wine and milk in the fridge! A very welcome surprise after a 6 hr drive.

A great place to get away from it all or for exploring the lizard peninsular. There is a lovely balcony to sit out on, especially great for enjoying a morning coffee overlooking the garden. There are great beaches nearby, water sports and lovely places to eat and drink. Alison made us feel very welcome, with useful tips and advice of places to eat and explore. The apartment has everything you need for a relaxing break and great facilities if you want to stay in. There was a lovely touch left for us on arrival. Couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you for a wonderful stay and we hope to be back again.”

We booked very late notice (the day before) and Alison couldn't have made it any easier for us - helpful, accommodating, friendly and kind. The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful. Alison clearly has an eye for design as the whole place just oozes charm, quality and style in an effortless and quiet way. The attention to detail is everywhere and it makes the Apple Loft a real pleasure to spend time at. The location is stunning, surrounded by beautiful countryside and everything you'd expect from this corner of Cornwall. Elizabeth (Tremayne End): “We stayed for one week, and hated to leave. Our apartment was both immaculately clean, and was furnished with everything we needed. We woke up every morning from a comfortable bed that looked out over the most beautiful garden. The living room and deck also had a gorgeous view. Alison was so friendly and accommodating to our every need. We were greeted and had waiting for us on our dining table flowers from her garden, a chilled bottle of the most amazing champagne, homemade brownies to die for, and delicious homemade jelly and milk in the refrigerator all to start us out. We felt pampered and we so appreciated the hospitality which we learned from meeting Alison, was just simply her nature.”

Jonathan (Tremayne End): “We stayed at Tremayne End for 3 nights in June 2022. Alison provided an in depth guide to the local amenities, tourist attractions and walks before our stay. Check in was straight forward and communication with Alison throughout was seamless. Tremayne End was perfect for my wife and I. It provided and ideal base to discover West Cornwall with trips to Penzance (including St Michaels and Mousehole), St Ives and the Minack Theatre. Tremayne End had everything we needed, was spotlessly clean and had small additional touches like wine and homemade chocolate brownies. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to rebook there for future trips to Cornwall.”
Fergus C (Tremayne End): “An absolutely beautiful flat in a superb location. We weren't sure quite what to expect, but as we drove up the winding country lane and were suddenly presented with the beautiful white house the flat is attached to, we really felt as if we were staying in a part of Cornish heritage. The flat has a perfect blend of the traditional and the modern: cosy, stylish and has everything you could possibly need including a lovely balcony with a stunning view over the meadows and front garden…. We are an LGBTQ+ couple and never encountered any problems on our holiday. We would definitely stay at Tremayne again - thanks so much to Alison and her family for having us!”
